Udupi, Oct 07, 2014: The short films are helpful in sustaining filmdom at a time when the film industry does not get its due patronage. If the producer survives he can sustain artistes and entire filmdom. The need of the hour is the viewers got to view Kannada and Tulu movies to give fillip to filmdom that will brighten up the future of producers and entire crew, said Gerry Vincent Dias, producer of Mahanadi movie.
Gerry was speaking after inaugurating Karavali Chitrotsav – 2014 that was jointly organized by UNICEF Prasar Bharati award winner Disha Communications and Vidyaniketan Group of education institutions at their seminar hall, Kaup, here on Sunday October 5.
Prime TV managing director Dinesh Kini was the chief guest said that the technological developments in coastal district decentralized the movie production that has given ample opportunities to young talent. The Tulu and Kannada filmdom had to grow by leveraging on technology and innovative ideas, said Kini.
Lions Club – Kaup president Nadikere Ratnakar Shetty presided the programme and hoped comedy movies can draw a large number of viewers.
Vidyaniketana Group of education institutions administrator Professor V K Udyavar, Patrakartara Vedike Udupi president Shekar Ajekar was the chief guest of the occasion.
Savita Salian rendered the prayers. The national award recipient movie director and journalist Prakash Suvarna Katpady welcomed the gathering. Manoj Kadaba proposed vote of thanks. Gangadar K Kanchan compered the programme.
