Mangalore, 06 Oct 2014: The traversing of flights between 11:30 pm and 7:30 am at the Mangalore International Airport (MIA) is likely to be rescheduled to day time owing to the runway-end safety area and construction of additional taxiways works here.
MIA has already submitted a letter with regard to this to the Airport Authority of India (AAI) a fortnight ago.
Speaking to MIA Director, J T Radhakrishna said, “Due to safety concerns during renovation, we have planned to reschedule the timing of a couple of Air India flights. The aircraft arriving to Mangalore from Damam at 3:20 am will likely be rescheduled to 7:30 am. Another Air India flight reaching Mangalore from Dubai at 4:45 am and departing at 8 pm will arrive at 7:45 am and leave at 11:15 pm.
However, we are awaiting response from the AAI. If things go according to the plan, the new rule will come into effect from November 1.”
