Mangalore, 06 Oct 2014: The electrical engineering department of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, here organized an outreach hands-on workshop for 60 students of high school in Bethany province here at St Raymond’s High School, Vamanjoor, here on Sunday October 5.
About 10 engineering students of SJEC familiarized the high school students with electronic components, basics of electronic circuitry and their application in various electrical devices, electronic gadgets etc. with their programme titled ‘Electromania 1.2 - Innovative Minds Edition.’
The objective of the programme was to kindle the interest among high school students to develop a passion for developing electronic projects and to take up engineering education. The training enabled the students to gain adequate knowledge to identify basic electronic components and acquire confidence to build minor circuits. Towards the end of the programme a hands-on session on circuit building was arranged and also a winning team was awarded the prize based on the points given gained throughout the program.
St Raymond’s School head teacher Sr Chrisalla witnessed the workshop and thanked the students and SJEC for conducting the workshop.
Dr Sheryl Colaco, Associate Professor of department of E&E, SJEC convened the programme.
