Mumbai: Konkan Seva Mandal celebrates Monti Fest at Goregaon (W) parish

Mumbai, 23 Sep 2014: Mumbai, 23 Sep 2014: Konkan Seva Mandal celebrated feast of Nativity of Mary (Monti Fest) at Our Lady of Rosary parish, Goregaon (West) here on Sunday September 14.

 
Fr Steven celebrated the festal Holy Mass along with deacons in Konkani at Goregaon (West) parish here on Sunday at 7.00am.

 
Fr Steven blessed the new paddy-sheaves after the Holy Mass.

 
Goregaon parish priest Fr Richard Crasto graced the cultural programme held after the Holy Mass at the parish hall, here on Sunday at 11.30am.

 
The programme began with a prayer dance, followed by solo and group singing of Konkani songs. The parishioners and children presented dances for Konkani, Hindi and Tamil songs.  It was choreographed by Jenita D’Souza.

Johnson D’Souza and group presented rib-tickling comedies and skits.

 
Winnie Saldanha and Rchard D’Sa compered the programme.

 
The sugarcane was distributed and traditional Novem Jevan was served to over 270 people on the occasion.
