Mumbai, Sep 23, 2014: Konkani unit of Holy Family parish, Chakala, Andheri (East) celebrated feast of Nativity of Mary (Monti Fest) with Mangalorean traditional splendor as usual every year on Sunday September 21.
Fr Aloysius SVD and Fr Leo Suvares SJ blessed the new paddy-sheaves in front of the grotto of Mother Mary at Chakala parish ground, here on Sunday September 21 at 7.30am and celebrated the Holy Mass.
Konkani choir group presented melodious singing during the liturgical service.
After the Holy Mass, cultural and entertainment programme was held at Holy Family School hall at11.00am.
The statue of Infant Mary was taken in a procession by singing. Lavita conducted the prayer service. The little children honored Infant Mary by showering flowers.
Joel D’Almeida and Genevieve D’Souza compered the programme.
The Konkani choir group presented ‘Mog Kara Sezara’ Konkani song of the late Konkani legendary singer the late Wilfy Rebimbus.
Alwyn Fernandes, Macita Gansalves, Felix Prasanna, Wilma Santumayor and Sharon Lobo enthralled the audience by singing.
The comedy group Valerian Lobo, Lancy Sequeira, Felix, Alwyn and others entertained the audiences with choicest of jokes and mimicry.
The little children trained by Valida and Hazel presented Konkani folkdance on the occasion.
The organizers honored the donors for their generous contributions.

The food was served prepared by Swagat Caterers.
