Udupi/M’belle, 29 Aug 2014: The Moodubelle Unit of the Catholic Sabha organized Pratibah Puraskar and Education Guidance Camp on Friday, 29 August 2014 at 10.30 am in the Parish hall. A large number of students and their parents along with the members of the Catholic Sabha participated in the programme. Rev. Fr. Roshan D’Souza, Assistant Parish Priest of Moodubelle, Mrs. Hilda D’Silva, retired lecturer of Economics from Milagres College, Kallianpur who was the chief guest and resource person, Alphonse K. Alva, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Henry Fernandes, former Vice President of the PPC, Mrs. Gladys Rebello and Mrs. Wilma Rodrigues- President and Secretary of the Catholic Sabha respectively were on the dais.
The programme began with singing of the hymn in honour of the Holy Spirit. Mrs. Gladys Rebello welcomed the guests and the gathering. Rev. Fr. Roshan D’Souza along with the dignitaries on the dais and two student representatives formally inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Rev. Fr. Roshan D’Souza felicitated the students who had scored distinction marks in PUC and SSLC examination held in March/April 2014. Mrs. Wilma Rodrigues read out their names. The felicitated students are: SSLC-Daisy Smithal Mendonca, Jevita D’Souza, Nishmitha Priya D’Souza, Hezel Ashwitha Martis and Vilita Priya Machado. PUC-Assumtha Arlin D’Souza.
In his message, Rev. Fr. Roshan D’Souza complimented the students for their great achievement and said that along with education development of value system is very important for the success in life and better future. He also appreciated the fact that a large number of students and their parents were present for the programme and camp and congratulated the office bearers and members of the Catholic Sabha for motivating and mobilising such a large number of participants.
Those parishioners who sponsored the programme with their donations were also felicitated on this occasion.
Mrs. Hilda D’Silva conducted the Education Guidance Camp in a lively manner. She narrated the examples of many students who in spite of their difficult family background and circumstances could succeed in achieving success in education and realize their goals. With open and frank interaction with the students and their parents, Mrs. Hilda D’Silva pointed out the desire and attitude of the children and hopes and aspirations of their parents.
Charles Quadros compeered the programme and Mrs. Wilma Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks.
