Udupi: Pangala parish celebrates Konkani Recognition Day

Udupi, 20 Aug 2014: ICYM unit of Pangala parish, near here organized cultural evening on the feast of Assumption of Mother Mary and Konkani Recognition Day, here on Friday August 15.

 

Fr Vincent Coelho was the chief guest of stage programme held at Pangala parish auditorium, here on Friday evening.

 

Pangala parish priest Fr Leslie D’Souza, Fr Vincent Coelho, Bro Rolvyn Fernandes, Sr Jaya, Mark Vaz and Simmy were present at the dais.

 

 

 
Fr Coelho in his brief message laid emphasis on Konkani and its distinct culture.

 

The parish units of Catholic Sabha, Association of Christian Mothers, ICYM and YCS presented their talents through skits and dance.

 

The parish youth presented Konkani play, ‘Chaliye Chatrai,’ by playwright Canute Pinto Padil, Mangalore, as part of entertainment programme.
