Kundapur: Catholic Sabha honors talented students on I -Day

Kundapur, 15 Aug 2014: The sixty-eighth I – Day was celebrated at Our Lady of Rosary parish ground, by the parish Catholic Sabha unit here on Friday August 15 morning.

 
Our Lady of Rosary parish priest Fr Anil D’Souza accepted the guard of honor from NCC cadets and hoisted the national flag.

 
Speaking on the occasion, Fr D’Souza said, ‘We celebrate I – Day today, which we have gotten by the sacrifices of many freedom fighters.  We had to ponder whether we got real freedom.  The true liberty lies in loving fellowmen and live in harmony,’ said Fr D’Souza.

 

 

 

 

 
Our Lady of Rosary assistant parish priest Fr Prakash D’Souza honored the toppers of students from SSLC, II PUC and degree colleges.

 
Fr Manoj Braganza, Catholic Sabha past president Vinod Crasto, parish council vice president Johnson D’Almeida and secretary Felcia D’Souza were present.

 
Catholic Sabha unit president Wilson Olivera welcomed the gathering.  The secretary Victoria D’Souza proposed vote of thanks.  The church choir group presented patriotic songs.  Wilson D’Almeida compered the programme.

 

 

Kundapura: Kundapur business community celebrate Independence Day

Kundapura, 15 Aug 2014: All the business community people from ChickenstallStreet and around Costa Complex celebrated 68th independent Day with great patriotism feeling at the Costa Complex.

Bernard D’Costa, the partner of Costa Complex and konkani writer/media person hoisted the flag and said that for more than 67 years were under the rule of British.  Due to continuous protest by Gandhi, Nehru, Karnad and and sacrifice of many other freedom fighter we finally achieved the Independence.  Many of our freedom fighters did not get the opportunity to enjoy the Freedom of India from the British.  However, we are very lucky to enjoy the freedom borne out of their sacrifice for the Nation.  Let us enjoy this freedom by practicing love, unity and justice.

 

 

During the celebrations, the other partners of Costa Complex Ms. Vinay D’Costa, Ms. Vijay D’Costa, Ms. SharmilaD’Costa and Mr. VittallSheregar of Sheregar Complex was present.

Many Businessmen namely; Mr. Praveen Kharvi, Mr. Girish of Praveen Studio, Mr. Dinkar, Mr. Ganeish, Mr. Richard, Mr. Avinash and Mr. Ganesh Mohini Satya took leadership in organizing the Independence Celebrations.  Mr. Manjunath compeered the program wonderfully.
