Udupi: Auto-rickshaw Drivers Union declares bund on March 4

Udupi, 27 Feb 2014: Auto-rickshaw Drivers Union declared to stage Udupi district bund from March 4, Demanding the revision of additional running charge from Rs. 15 to 16.
Raghupathy Bhat, former MLA and President of the Federation in a press meet said that increase in the running fare of Rs. 1 is the basic demand. However the members of the Federation had put forward their demand to Deputy Commissioner M.T. Reju that it would stage a bandh on March 3.
Reju assured to look into the demand. “Hence we will wait till March 3. If the RTA doesn’t increase it by then, then we will stage a the bandh in the entire district on March 4,” Mr. Bhat said.

| I think the revision of fare of autos at udupi are quite reasonable and with the better roads now running meter increase of rs 15 is understandable . If it is rs 16 there will always be change problems as for first 2 K.meters it would be rs 41. now it will be rs 40. hance the hassels for changes will not be there and gradually the auto people will be benefitted. Better accept the decisions and then next time improve upon the rates. | |
