M’lore: Guardian Angel Parish, Angelore celebrate Community Day with Cultural Extravaganza

Mangalore, 10 Feb 2014 : The Guardian Angel Parish, Angelore, here celebrated their Parish Day as community day on Sunday February 9.
The Parishioners thanked and praised the Lord at the Eucharistic Celebration held on Sunday at 7.30am.
Jeppu – St Joseph’s Seminary Professor Fr Ronald Serrao concelebrated the Eucharistic Celebration at Angelore parish, here along with parish priest Fr Mathew Vas and the assistant parish priest Fr Deepak D’Sa.
A large number of parishioners partaken in the Eucharistic Celebration on the occasion.
Angelore parish priest Fr Mathew presided the stage programme held at parish grounds here on Sunday evening.
Mangalore south MLA J R Lobo was the chief guest of the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Lobo urged the Mangalorean Konkan youth to try to get to civil service, urged MLA Lobo.
Fr Mathew in his presidential address also affirmed MLA Lobo’s views.
Fr Mathew honored MLA Lobo by draping the shawl on the same occasion.
MLA Lobo distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions that were held as part of community day.
Angelore parish council vice president Albert Lasrado welcomed the gathering. The secretary Juliana Mascarenhas presented the annual report and briefed on future plans. The parish youth and cultural Committee Lancy Monteiro proposed vote of thanks. Robin Vas compered the programme.
The highlight of the programme was when the parishioners participated in ward-wise ‘Vadya Sambram’ mesmerizing musical show. The children and the adults regardless of their age mingled in displaying their inherent talent and creativity. It indeed enthralled the audiences who viewed with awe.
The day was concluded with a sumptuous meal prepared by the parishioners themselves.
It was a memorable and a unique day as it marked the unity and the co-operation of the parishioners for betterment of parish community.
