Mangalore : Dialysis Machine Installed at Father Muller Hospital

Mangalore, 07 Feb 2014 : Jamiyyathul Falah, a leading organization of the district handed over a dialysis machine to Fr. Muller Charitable Institutions. This dialysis machine was donated by Mr. Shekabba Karnere. This is the 7th dialysis machine donated by this organization.

 

As a part of this ceremony small gathering was assembled at the Council Hall. The dialysis machine was inaugurated by the father of the donor K.S. Sayyar Kharnare.  Local MLA Mr. J.R Lobo was present, while addressing the gathering he said, “This is a noble cause and Jamiyyathul Falah is kind enough to donate this machine to charitable institution like Father Mullers. A large number of people are suffering from this ailment, this will go a long way in the service of the humanity.”

 

 

Rev. Fr Patrick Rodrigues presided over the function. In his presidential address thanked Jamiyyathul Falah for the noble gesture. He said, “They were gracious enough to donate 6 more dialysis machine earlier. As many as 65 patients undergo the treatment per day. In 2013 dialysis was done to 17,000 patients out of whom large number of them were referred by Jamiyyathul Falah, concession amounted to Rs 10 lakhs was given to the poor patients. There is lot of inflow of patients from surrounding towns like Sullia, Puttur and Belthangady. Inorder to make it easier for the patients we would like to establish a unit at our center in Thumbay. Therefore this machine will directly start operating from Thumbay center. “

 

 

Mr. Saduddin Salihi, Dist. President appealed the social workers to create awareness among people about the food habits and maintenance of good health. Further expressing the desire of the donor, Mr. Shekabba he said, “As many as 20 poorest of the poor should be identified and he will bear all the expenses of the treatment of those people.”

 

Rev. Fr Richard Coelho, Administrator, FMMCH, Rev. Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, Administrator, FMMC, Dr. Sanjeev Rai, CMS, Medical Superintendent,Dr. UdayKumar, Dr. J.P Alva, Dean, Doctors from the department of Urology and Nephrology, Mr. Saleem Ahmed, Medical Incharge, Jamiyyathul Falah and the other members of the organization were present for the ceremony.
