Bahrain: Indian Club celebrates 65th Republic Day of India with great grandeur

Bahrain, 28 Jan, 2014 : With the flow of the early morning 6.30 am cool breeze and in the presence of the Indian School Band, President of the Indian Club Mr. Anand Lobo welcomed  the invited guest from India a Social Activist Rtd. IPS office Dr. Kiran Bedi along with Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awardee, a reputed businessman in Bahrain Dr. Vergese Kurien and other famous dignitaries to the stage, Dr. Kiran Bedi hoisted the Indian Flag and Dr. Vergese Kurien hoisted the Bahrain flag in the presence Dignitaries, a large number of Indian club members and Indian expatriates.

 

In her address Dr.Bedi called all Indian to recognize and understand the real problems faced by the different sections of the society all around us. She said she have dedicated her life to solve social causes. She also emphasized the importance of selecting the right people during elections to run the country, also shared her happiness in passing of the Lokpal bill recently in the parliament.

 

 

She lauded the efforts of Anna Hazare in passing the Lokpal bill. She also congratulated Dr. Kurien for his social work in particular supporting the poor children’s education; during the function she facilitated Dr. Vegese Kurien for the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, by shawl, flower bouquet and memento as remembrance. Dr. Kiran Bedi was also felicitated by shawl and memento during the program. Dr. Kiran Bedi congratulated the Indian Club President Anand Lobo, Executive Committee members for keeping alive the spirit of Patriotism in the Indian community in far away place like Bahrain by conducting these programs as celebration.

 

During the course of the program Indian School Band played many Patriotic songs the likes of Sare Jahanse Achha, Vande Matharam, Janaganamana, to bring emotions to the gathering patriotic Indian crowd.

 

Later all gathered dispersed for breakfast, a close door question ,answer session was held with Dr.Bedi, for which she obliged with great enthusiasm. President Anand Lobo thanked Dr. Bedi, Dr.Kurien and other dignitaries for their presence and valuable time.
