M’lore: Mangalore University Students Hold Protest on Deralakatte Incident, Seek Justice to Me

Mangalore, 18 Jan 2014: The students fraternity of different colleges affiliated to Mangalore University led by the Student’s Council held a protest against the ’Deralakatte incident’ here at Mangalore University campus, Konaje, here on Friday January 17 evening.
The students group held a protest-rally from the main gate till the Mangala Auditorium, here, demanding the law enforcing agencies to take stern action on all those who were involved in ‘Deralakatte incident,’ wherein a group of 2 medical students were kidnapped and forced into sexual-act which was filmed by a gang of extortionists.
Over 250 students led by students’ council president Dhanush Jogi, vice president Ganesh Pai, secretary Gururaj, joint secretary Prasanna Kumar, cultural secretary Atmiya, joint cultural secretary Prashant Krishna, presented memorandums to Mangalore University vice-chancellor Professor Shivashankaramurti and Konaje police sub-inspector Sudhakar on the occasion, seeking justice on ‘Deralakatte incident.’
