Mangalore: KORWA shares Christmas joy with 500 orphans with Scintillating Show in City

Mangalore, 15 Dec 2013 : Konkan Overseas Returnees Welfare Association (KORWA) shared the joyful season of Christmas with over 500 children of 7 orphanages across the city, during the celebrations held at Loyola Hall of St Aloysius P U College, Campus, here on Saturday December 14.
The inmates of Infant Mary’s Orphanage Centre Kulsekar, Spandana Trust (Prashant Nivas) Jeppu, St Angela Home - Bejai, Prajna Counseling Centre - Kankanady , Jeevadhan – AIDS children’s rehabilitation centre, Gurpur - Kaikamba, Ashraya - Bijai, were enjoyed the celebration. They have also enthusiastically partaken in dances exhibiting their talent even in presenting skits on the occasion. Their performances were appreciated by the gathering with thundering applauses.
The children enjoyed the scintillating Bollywood dance performance by Beat Bouncers Troupe and the live music by Rising Star Band, jokes, dances from foble and Saphaire groups
Mimicry and laughter session indeed was the highlight of the entire programme that was enjoyed by audiences in the Santa Claus who arrived at the venue in bicycle carrying goodies gave surprise and excitement to the gathering especially children.
MLA J R Lobo during opening ceremony said that the real meaning of Christmas lies in sharing the joy of Christmas season with the less fortunate in the society.
Korwa President Mr Louis Lobo in his opening speech explained the main objectives of forming Korwa and highlighted the charity work carried out by them.
MLA Lobo lauded the efforts of KORWA in organizing the Christmas celebrations to bring joys and happiness to children who were deprived of motherly-love and care. It’s indeed a worthy deed, said MLA Lobo.
The city-based premier real estate developer Mr Rohan Monteiro chaiman of Rohan Corporation and Paragon Builders MrI Elias Sanctis were felicitated on the occasion by KPCC Sec Mr Ivan D Souza.
The Christmas celebration was full of songs, Dances, jokes and Santa with gifts etc. All the children and adults enjoyed the programme.
