Abu Dhabi: It was all Entertainment, fun and food at Christmas Festival held at St. Joseph’ Cathedra

Abu Dhabi, 08 Dec 2013: The Christmas Bazar at St. Joseph’s Cathedral is celebrated for the last 27 years with great joy and filled with loads of games, food stalls, raffle draws, Christmas Carols, Christmas plays, variety of entertainment programs, cultural shows, dances western, Bollywood, classical and Arabic and above all grand entry of the Christmas Father to the ultimate joy of little kids waiting in patient for his arrival to receive loads of goodies.
This year too it was Dhoom Dhamaka attended by sea of Catholics of all communities mainly, Mangalorean, Goan, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Pilipino, Sri Lankan, Arabic, Italian, French, American, German, British and a few communities African Countries took part in whole day programs, going to through each and every stalls, playing games, engaged in competition, tasting all communities food, loads of entertainment and the final grand Raffle Draw a sport car courtesy Mr. Walter D’Almeida of Regal Furnishings Abu Dhabi.
The magnificent Christmas Bazar began with two renowned emcees of the day Avito Calvalo and Roydon D’Mello welcoming the guests of the day HE Bishop Paul Hinder, Rev. Lennie Connuly (Vicar General) Rev. Fr. Savarimuthu (Parish Priest) and all the priests and nuns of the Parish and the main coordinators’ Mr. Conrad D’Souza (Vice Chairman), Mr. Dolphy Vaz (General Coordinator). Prior to the inauguration of the Christmas Bazar Bishop and all the priests and nuns were felicitated with flower bouquets.
HE Bishop Paul Hinder welcomed the gathering and inaugurated the Christmas Festival with cutting the ribbons and releasing the balloons. Then the grand entry of Santa Clause in a sport car this time mesmerized the little kids. Once on the stage he greeted all the communities in eleven languages and wished them all a very Happy Christmas Festival. On the occasion 2014 Parish calendar was released along with Bishop and loads of goodies were distributed to the little kids.
The morning session began with melodies carol singing by Circle of Hands followed by Christmas Carols by little children. Then a variety of dances were performed on the stage while the crowd slowly visited all the stalls and especially the food stalls to savour the variety of breakfasts.
The evening session too was packed with loads of entertainment programs, Bollywood, Arabic and other south Indian dances.
The final session began with Christmas play by Gods Flock Choir and thanks giving first by Parish Priest Fr. Savarimuthu especially for all the coordinators, volunteers, ushrs, KPG members, donors, for those put up the stalls.
Dolphy Vas proposed the final vote of thanks for all the people for attending the Christmas Festival and making it a grand success and he also thanked all the media representatives for covering the whole day event.
The final lucky draw was held on the entry tickets and the final prize Kia Sportage Car which was donated by Mr. Walter D’Almeida of Regal Furnishings was won by Miss Dainy.
The curtains came down about 9:30am with the faithful leaving with loads of goodies and food packets and vivid memories of the most magnificent Christmas Bazar 2013. Avito and Roydon has the crowd pulled to the stage with their magical performances, witty and humorous jokes and did a great job as emcees of the day and entertain the whole crowd whole day.
