M’lore: ISA project exhibition at Mount Carmel School Unravels Inherent talent

Mangalore, 23 Nov 2013: A project exhibition organized by Mount Carmel School, Mary Hill, here as part of the re-accreditation programme of International School Award (ISA) by British Council was inaugurated at the school campus here on Friday November 22.
Mount Carmel Central School had won the International School Award of British Council in the year 2010. This award is valid for a period of 3 years where schools have to undertake a series of activities, projects, exhibitions, field trips related to global educational themes.
The philanthropist Vidya Bagalodi and Sarah from Germany inaugurated the programme here on Friday morning. Mount Carmel Education Institution joint secretary Sr Ida Barboza, administrator Sr Carissima and principal Sr Melissa were present on the dais.
As part of the re-accreditation process, 7 projects were organized: A family project for Class I which included the students to bring in pictures of the family and creating a genetic tree; grandparent’s day etc. The second project for Class II was one of transport as a means of communication in different countries; with this project students learned better road safety regulations.
A project on food was organized for Class III where they gathered information on food facts of 4 different countries. Visitors from some of these countries added more fun to the information.
A project for Class IV was on the topic of relationship between different countries and the bridges formed between them.
Fr Austin from UK was the mentor of this project.
Class V experienced a project on martial arts where they were taught an art for a healthier living. Classes VI and VII were involved in a study of tribes from India UK, USA and Africa as a part of the ISA project. Class VIII, Class IX and Class X were made to learn the importance of biodiversity and wildlife conservation.
