Mangalore: Congress celebrates Ninety-Sixth Birth Anniversary of Former PM Indira Gandhi

Mangalore, 19 Nov 2013: Dakshina Kannada (DK) District Congress Committee (DCC) celebrated ninety-sixth birth anniversary of former PM Indira Gandhi during a function held at DCC office here on Tuesday November 19 morning.
Addressing the gathering, DCC designated president Ibrahim Kodijal said that it’s the during the sixteen-year reign of Indira Gandhi in the Centre, several pro-people programmes were implemented including Green Revolution, Land to the Tiller, five-year plans, nationalization of Indian banks, etc, She was a great stateswomen that the nation has seen and much respected by world leaders, said Ibrahim.
DCC chief secretary T K Sudhir, KPCC general secretary Ivan D’Souza, former MLA Vinay Kumar shetty, former mayor Sasidar Hegde, corporators Praveenchandra Alva, Sabita Misquit, Asha D’Silva and Jacinta Alfred, Mamata Gatti, Kripa Alva and others were present on the occasion.
