M’lore: Bishop Dr Aloysius asserts Youth are Salt of Earth during ‘Walk for Christ’ Rally in C

Mangalore, 18 Nov 2013: The concluding ceremony of Year of the Faith began with the youth rally, ‘Walk for Christ’ from Our Lady of Miracles church, Milagres, here to Rosario Cathedral here on Sunday November 17 afternoon.
The youth rally was flagged-off by the Maharastra Christian Association president Raymond D’Cunha and Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza at Milagres church grounds.
Over 5,000 youth and adults participated in the rally on the occasion.
Addressing the youth, Bishop Dr Aloysius said, ‘You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world. If there is salt everything will taste good. If there is no light everything will be dark. A pinch of salt to water will give taste. We should live our life like salt, becoming a model for for others. We should help others in their needs. When we walk for Christ, we have to keep in mind, that each one of us are precious in front of Jesus and that we will help others who are in need and become the light of the world,’ said Bishop Dr Aloysius.
The closing ceremony of Year of Faith will be held at Nehru maidan, here from Friday November 22 till Sunday November 24, from 4.00pm to 7.30pm.
This three-day programme consists of preaching, praise and worship, adoration, inner healing and Holy Eucharistic celebration.
