Paladka Parishioners held first ever get- together in Dubai

Dubai,17 Oct 2013 : There are a number of associations belonging to various Parishes of Mangalore and Udupi Diocese in U.A.E  which began in and around 2000.  The enthusiastic Parishioners of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, Paladka too joined the family of associations when they  met first time Paladka at Mamzar park on 16th of October, 2013.  It was a happy moment and a great beginning for the Paladka Parishioners to meet and greet their friends, relatives whom they have not met or spoken for years and they pledged to continue to meet and associate closely and form a strong association for their well-being and think and help their brethren back home in Paladka.

 

The get-together began with a prayer by their Parish Priest Fr. Ivan Rodrigues who is on a short visit to U.A.E., followed by introduction of the members to each other. A sizable crowd was joined at the get-together and loads of fun loving games were organized.  The crowd was divided into four teams under unique names and a team leader for each group was selected. The team were named as Uzwad, Paladka challengers, Paladka Express, Paladka friends.

 

 

Many games and activities were organized. Everyone actively participated in all games. At around 2 p.m. delicious lunch was served.Fr.Prakash Danthis, from Paladka presently in U.P. blessed the food with prayer. After the lunch quiz was organized about Mangalore by Mr.Roshan D’silva, Ms. Joyline Pinto and Ms. Vidya Fernandes, Vamanjoor.  Uzwad  team secured the first place in overall games and activities. Paladka Parish Priest Fr. Ivan Rodrigues conveyed a message to the gathering and invited all to the Century Jubilee celebration of St. Ignatius Loyola church, Paladka.

 

 

Many enthusiastic games and activities were organized. Everyone presented participated actively and enthusiastically and had a great fun. At around 2:00 p.m. delicious lunch was served for all those attended the gathering. Fr.Prakash Danthis, from Paladka who is serving presently in U.P. and one a visit to U.A.E said the grace before meal.

After the sumptuous lunch an interesting quiz was organized about Mangalore by Mr.Roshan D’Silva a well-known community leader and compare in U.A.E.who has conducted the many major programs in U.A.E. and in the Gulf including GVOM , Joyline Pinto and Vidya Fernandes of Vamanjoor of Uzwad  team secured the first place in overall games and activities.

 

Paladka Parish Priest Fr. Ivan Rodrigues conveyed the message to the gathering wishing the new association all success and also invited all parishioners of Paladka in U.A.E to attend the Century Jubilee celebration of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, Paladka

Prior to the closing a Lucky draw for a I-Pad was organized which was sponsored by Mr. Andrew Aranha. The collected amount from lucky draw was donated to Paladka church fund. Nishel Rodrigues was the winner of the lucky draw. The program was hosted by Ms. Joyline Pinto, Vamanjoor. The get together closed with a hymn “ Somyak Deenvasunyan”.
