Kuwait: Indian Cultural Society hosts ‘Jalsa Junoon Ka’ with film actor Padmashree TOM ALTER

Kuwait, 9 Sep 2013: Indian Cultural Society hosted ‘Jalsa Junoon Ka’ with film actor Padmashree TOM ALTER and renowned poets from India here Friday September 6.

 The programme was inaugurated by Satish Chandra Mehta, Indian Ambassador in Kuwait. Indian Cultural Society presented ‘Jalsa Junoon Ka’ as a tribute to freedom fighters.

Moulana Azad is a solo stage play by legendry bollywood actor and theater icon Padma Shree Tom Alter. The play progresses in the backdrop of Moulana Azad dictating notes for his ‘India Wins Freedom.’ In doing so, the Moulana discusses both political & apolitical with equal proclivity, with his narrative including numerous entertaining anecdotes characterizing his personalities, life, times & scholarship. Tom Alter is very familiar for all, a thespian & television actor, acted in both Bollywood & Hollywood movies. He has performed hundreds of stage play worldwide. Hisfilms from Charas” till today’s hits, he is engaged in many fields. He has done remarkable role in Shantraj Ke Khiladi and officer in Kranti. Film Sardar, the 1993 film biography of Indian leader Sardar Patel, which focused on the events surrounding the partition and Independence of India.

 

‘Moulana Azad’ was scripted and directed by young director Dr M Sayeed Alam. He has written hundreds of plays and had received worldwide appraisal in very short time.

‘Jalsa Junoon Ka’ having another flavor of Mushaira with Kavi Sammelan and had  invited top most poets from Urdu, Hindi and comedic poetry section.

India’s first choice in Mushaira ‘Munawwar Rana’ was  guest of honor accompanied by renowned poets Mansoor Usmani ( JMF- Muradabaad), Akhtar Burhanpuri, Dr Nusrat Mehdi (Urdu Academy Bhopal), Aqeel Nomani ( Bareli UP), Arun Gemini (Gem of Hindi poetry- Haryana).

Dr Tariq Qamar (ETV- Lucknow), Alok Srivastav (Aaj Tak- New Delhi) and Sakeena Shikari from Kuwait.
