M’lore: Father Muller Charitable Institutions Director Fr Patrick Highlights Better Quality Be

Mangalore, 7 Sep 2013: ‘In any field quality is a very important aspect to have a better result,’ said Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), while addressing the gathering during a workshop on Total quality management in laboratory held here on Saturday September 7.
Fr Patrick further said, ‘Before there was an apprehension that quality comes at a cost, but after number of studies it was proved that quality saves the cost. Quality saves the waste of material and also increases the efficiency. The quality depends on every person involved in the management from higher authority to the last person involved. Commitment, sense of belongingness and involvement are the three important keys to attain quality,’ said Fr Patrick.
Trends - 2013 was organized by the department of hospital administration, Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) at Knowledge Centre, Father Muller Medical College, here on Saturday September 7.
FMMC administrator Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, deam Dr Jayaprakash Alva, quality manager Santosh were present on the occasion.
The workshop threw light on different parameters required to ensure quality in the laboratory. It also enabled the students to understand the requirement to gear up the standard of NABL accreditation.
The resource person was Dr Shivshankar, associate Professor and quality manager for NABL, FMMC and Dr Sumanth, associate Professor and deputy technical manager for NABL, FMMC. They touched on various topics like orientation to ISO 15189, process of NABL Accreditation and safety in laboratory. It was a very interactive and educative session.
The administration students in and around Mangalore participated in this workshop.
