Mangalore: Law implementers become law perpetrators

Bantwal, 02 Sep 2013: The officials of Labour and Education Department and the Child Helpline jointly raided the house of Eru Naik, police constable of Kadri East Traffic police station and rescued eight year old girl who worked as a domestic helper at Ajjibettu in B.C Road.

 

 

The girl hails from Bellary and used to take care of one and a half year old baby of the couple. Constables wife Jyothi Bai is a village accountant in Bantwal.

 

During the interrogation it was revealed that the girl’s parents reside in Tamilnadu and he has three siblings. A case has been registered.

 

Renny D’Souza of Child Helpline, Prasanna Kumar, Labour Commissioner, Sheshashayana Acharya, Block Education Officer were part of the raiding team.
