Udupi: Old Students of Belle Church Aided Hr. Pr. School meet to plan centenary celebration

Udupi/M’belle, 11 Aug 2013: The Old Students of the Church Aided Higher Primary School, Moodubelle held an important meeting on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 9 am in St. Lawrence PU College Hall to plan centenary celebration of the school.  The meeting was presided over by Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes, Correspondent of St. Lawrence Educational Institutions. Rajendra Shetty, President of Old Students Association and Sylvester Mathias, headmaster of the school conducted the meeting.

 
In the meeting it was decided that the Old Students should celebrate the centenary of the school in a befitting manner and a separate day should be set aside for their get-together in the form of sports and cultural programme. As the official celebration has already being fixed on Monday, December 30, 2013, it was decided that on Sunday, December 29, 2013, Old Students would celebrated the centenary with sports in the morning, lunch at noon and cultural programme in the evening.

 

 
Two separate committees were constituted to plan the sports events and cultural programmes. Denis Martis was chosen as the convener of the Old Students Sports Committee. Vincent Fernandes as Secretary and Mrs. Sujata Suvarna as Joint Secretary. Mrs. Anita Alva was chosen as the Convener of the Cultural Committee. Lancy Martis as Secretary and Maxim D’Sa as Joint Secretary.

 
Rajendra Shetty, President of the Old Students Association said that out of 14 projects that the school has visualized during the centenary year, the Old Students Association should sponsor at least one of the major projects. He suggested that the Old Students Association can sponsor  the renovation of the school ground  which was accepted by the members present for the meeting.
