Terrified members of the family members of Raju Shetty spread the word about the presence of the python in their chicken shelter and a large number of people gathered to devise a method to catch the unusual reptile. Finally, Ramakrishna Poojary managed to corner and catch the predator. The member of Belle Grama Panchayat Rajendra Shetty was also present during the ‘operation to catch the python’.
Later, the python was brought to Devaragudde to be released in the nearby river. The python was a great attraction to the passersby as ssuch huge reeptiles have been rarely spotted in these areas. Being aware of the wild life laws and the need to protect such specieis, the people did not hurt the python. They held the python in order to prevent it from escaping and posed for pictures. Thereafter the python was placed in a sack and taken to river to be released.
