M’lore: MLA J R Lobo offers unto Society Blood Bank set up by IRCS - DK Unit at Lady Goschen

Mangalore, 20 May 2013: MLA J R Lobo offered unto the society the newly-set up blood bank by Dakshina Kannada (DK) district unit of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) at Lady Goschen Hospital, here on Sunday May 19 at 8.30am.

 

Speaking on the occasion, J R Lobo said that a state-of-the-art blood bank in the state-run Hospital will enable the needy especially BPL families to get free blood.   He also commended IRCS in setting up blood bank in the city. 

 

Nitte University pro-chancellor and IRCS – DK unit former chairman Dr Shantaram Shetty and IRCS – Karnataka chairman B Rajeev Shetty was the guests of honour.

 

 

IRCS– DK unit chairman Dr Murli Manohar and others were present at the occasion.

 

IRCS– DK unit held a blood donation camp at the Red Cross blood bank in Lady Goschen Hospital premises soon after the inauguration on Sunday from 9.00am to 1.00pm.

 

The frequent donor Vijay Kumar donated his blood first amongst others and urged the people to donate their blood to save precious lives especially during emergencies.
