Scintillating ’Ramee Rasa Sanje’ rocks Bahrain

Bahrain, 13 Apr 2013: Bahrain Kannadigas on Friday April 12 witnessed scintillating entertainment with "Ramee Rasa Sanje 2013" hosted at the Indian Club in capital Manama.

 

Organised as a Ugadi treat by "Namma Kannada Bahrain" Facebook group, in association with the Indian Club and Baron Management Company, the show was a huge hit with more than 2,000 people enjoying the evening.

 

Kannada’s "Challenging Star" Darshan was the star attraction of the event, with the large crowd cheering his every move. Darshan enthralled the audience with his inspiring speech and dance moves on the stage.

 


 
Top Kannada singers Anuradha Bhat and Hemanth Kumar took the audience through a mesmerising journey of golden oldies and new hit numbers.

 

The crowd enjoyed every bit of the show, performed at the impressive open air stage named after Tugudeepa Sreenivas, the noted Kannada actor and father of Darshan. There was also Mimicry Gopi whose imitation of voices of Kannada stars and politicians won huge rounds of applause from the crowd.

 

The show was ably and innovatively anchored by noted TV artist and anchor Anupama Bhat and Bahrain’s own Kasturi Kannada fame Kamalaksha Amin. The local talents have presented variety of dance performances directed by Chandrakala Mohan.


 
Austin Santhosh, one of the key organizers, welcomed the guests and the audience, which was one of the largest in the recent history for a Kannada programme in Bahrain, and thanked the Kannadigas of Bahrain and Namma Kannada members for their support in making the event a huge success.

 

The event followed the success of the first “Ramee Rasa Sanje 2012” held last year. Austin Santhosh and Kamalaksha Amin,( another key organiser of the event), said the tremendous support they received from sponsors, the Kannada community and friends had given them the strength to hold more such events.Chandrakala Mohan and Vijay Brahmmavar are other two organisers who played a major role in this successful event.


 
Guest of honour, Zafarulla Khan, noted businessman from UAE and general secretary of Janatha Dal (Secular), stressed on the importance of keeping one’s cultural heritage alive and praised the Namma Kannada group’s impressive activities. Another guest of honour Girish Shetty, president of Karnataka Sangha Dubai, Mohammed Mansour, vice-president, Al Namal Group, former presidents of Bunts Bahrain Amarnath Rai and Pradeep Shetty, Anand Lobo, president of the Indian Club were also on the stage during the function.

 


 
Title sponsor Ramee Hotels and Resorts Group general manager Shantharam Shetty and Mohammed Mansoor praised the organisers for the splendid event and promised every help in promoting Indian and Kannada culture on the island.


 
Darshan, Zafrulla Khan, Girish Shetty and Chandrakala Mohan, well-known choreographer of Bahrain, who is known for her Bollywood style of dance presentations, were felicitated during the function.
