Kundapur: Birth Anniversary of Babu Jagjivanram Celebrated in Town

Kundapur, 7 Apr 2013: At the joint auspices of the social welfare department, taluk panchayat, revenue department and town council, one-hundred-sixth birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram was celebrated at taluk panchayat auditorium here on Saturday April 6.

 
Kundapur sub-divisional officer Yogeshwar inaugurated the programme.

 

 
Speaking on the occasion, Tahsildar Gayatri Nayak after garlanding the portrait of Jagjivan Ram, said that the ideals of Jagjivan Ram is worthy to be emulated, said Gayatri.

 
Koteshwar Government First Grade College head of department of political science S Nityanand delivered a talk on Jagjivan Ram and other national leader Dr Ambedkar who were the crusaders of struggle against oppression and marginalization in the society.

 
The municipal chief officer Sadanand, taluk social welfare officer Ravi was present at the occasion.

 
The taluk panchayat CEO Gopal Shetty welcomed the gathering.
