Udupi/Kundapur: Devotees flock in large numbers to take part in Easter Vigil

Udupi/Kundapur, 31 Mar 2013: Devotees flocked in great numbers to their respective parishes to attend the Easter Vigil Mass, which marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Mass was celebrated by Udupi bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo at Milagres Cathedral.

 

 

 

Kundapur: Parishioners of Our Lady of Rosary Celebrate Easter with Great Devotion

The celebration of Easter was held with great reverence and devotion at Our Lady of Rosary parish, here on Saturday March 30 night.  The celebration was held in four stages.

On the first stage, Easter candle was lit on the courtyard on Saturday evening and taken the lighted candle and placed on the altar.  Kundapur Pre-University College principal Fr Praveen Martis conducted this Easter rite.  The parishioners shared the light from Easter candle and marched inside the church.

On the second stage, Kundapur deanery vicar Fr Anil D’Souza delivered homily.  Fr Anil in his homily urged the faithful to follow the Easter message in order to commit themselves for His greater glory.  The risen Lord is the succor of Mankind who gives strength to persevere the persecutions, citing example of St Peter who was a fisherman preached the Gospel boldly after the resurrection of Jesus Christ, said Fr Anil.

On the third stage, Fr Praveen Martis showered the holy water on the faithful gathered at the parish.On the fourth stage, Eucharistic Celebration was held with great devotion.

Fr Anil and Fr Praveen conveyed Easter greetings to the faithful at the occasion.

 

 

 

Easter  Vigil Mass In Holy Cross Church Shanthipura Pamboor

Easter Vigil mass was held in Holy cross chruch Pamboor at 7:00pm. The ceremony started with the blessing of the fire outside the church.Rev.fr.Charles Lewis was the main celebrant of the Eucharistic celebration. After the blessing of the fire Rev.fr.Charles lit the candle and took it inside the church and then sang the Easter Hymn. And after this, liturgy Consited of 2 readings from old testament and 2 readngs from new testament. And the Mass continued…

Rev.fr Charles  during the homily told about the importance of Easter and how Jesus fulfilled God’s dream and he taught the people how to forgive. After the mass Rev.Fr.Charles Lewis Conveyed his wishes to the Parishioners and  the Church Magazine “Khursaacho Taalo” was released and the Ceremony went on till 9:15pm. Hundreds of Parishioners attended the Mass.
