Abu Dhabi: World Kannada Convention Closing ceremony show cases Cultural dances

Abu Dhabi; 18th December 2012:  The grand 9th World Kannada Cultural Convention closing ceremony was held at ADIS school with magnificent dance performance by little children from Abu Dhabi and Karnataka.  It also honoured a few great personalities for their tremendous contribution to the social and media cause.

 

 

Ms. Mangala Shetty, the multitalented compare of the closing ceremony welcomed the audience with her beautiful singing and reciting wonderful poems of RastrakaviKuwempu and others.  The day began with lighting of traditional lamp by organizers of the event namely Sri Manjunath Sagar of HridayaVani (Mangalore) and Mr. Sarvotham Shetty (President – Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi).  

 

This was followed by Kannada Rasa Manjari,  by Gulf Kannadiga’s and variety of cultural wonderful dance performances by Abu Dhabi and groups from Bangalore and Dawanagere namely:  VishwaVinoothana Group Dance by GanaNruthyaKoustubha, Abu Dhabi,  JanapadaNruthya "Jakkanaka Thai Thai" by Clarissa Fernandes & Team UAE, HanigavanaGhosti (Humerous) - by AvaneeshBhat& Team

Classical Fusion Dance - Tillana by ADKS members, Group Song by Donald Pinto & Group UAE

 

 

The main event of the day VishwaManyaru" Prashasthi - 2012 Pradhana awarded to the prominent personalities for their tremendous contribution in their respective fields namelyWalter Nandalike(Media – Daijiworld), Sudhir kumar Shetty (CEO Global UAExchange Centre for banking/social service), Raju Chandra Shekar, Bangalore(Social Service), Navin Chandra Sunil Mumbai(Social Service) and Siraj Ahmed Abu Dhabi (Social Service).  Mr. Sarvotham Shetty praised them for the dedication and determination to help out the common people and highlighted their achievements.  They were felicitated with Traditional Shawls, Floral Bouquets and Mementos.

 

All the organizers too and all committee members too were recognized for their dedication and hard work over the months for this wonderful grand Cultural Show.

 

Prior to closing the show was HashyaLahariByKotreshKodligi& Team which the audience enjoyed and had good laugh.  All in all it was a great magnificent Cultural show wherein variety of entertainment via beautiful dances, singing, yakshagana and over all recognition of prominent personalities in the field of Art, Literature, Social Services, media, drama and culture.  It was indeed a grand memorable 9th World Kannada Cultural Convension.
