Moodubelle: Cultural Programmes mark the second day’s Ganeshotsava celebrations

Moodubelle, 21 Sept 2012: Ganeshotsava has been not only the religious and family festival, but also a festival during which cultural activities and programmes have been presented especially in the Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Mandals. In most of the Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Mandals where Ganeshotsava is celebrated for three days, the first day is for installation and religious rituals; second day is reserved for various cultural activities and programmes and the third day for religious rituals followed by immersion of the Ganesh idols in rivers or ponds. This reporter had an opportunity to visit three Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Mandals at Dendoorkatte, Moodubelle and Palli.
Dendoorkatte:
Sarvajanika Shri Ganeshotsava in its fifth year was celebrated with great devotion and amidst religious rituals and cultural activities. Festivities associated with Ganeshotsava had started from the installation of the idol of Shri Ganesha on September 19. The cultural programmes on September 20, started at 5.30 pm with Annapoorneshwari Music , Sangeetha Rasa Sanje by Alevoor Dhananjay and Group and Film Dance by Amazing Dance Group, Nittoor, Doll Play by Shri Ganesha Yakshagana Gombeyata Mandali, Uppinakudru, Kundapura; Mimicry and comedy by Shri Prakash Acharya, Kinnigoli and Tulu family drama-“Janne-Jana-Encha…”
The immersion of Shri Ganesh idol will take place at 8.30 pm on September 21.
Moodubelle:
The three days long 33rd Sarvajanika Shri Ganeshotsava of Belle-Kattingeri in Geeta Mandir, Santekatte, Moodubelle has been celebrated with religious rituals and cultural programmes. There was Gana Homa, Mahapooje and Maha Annasantarpane in the forenoon.
Cultural programmes began at 5 pm with Fancy Dress and presentation of cultural programmes by local talent. Folk Dances and variety entertainment programme sponsored by Henry Alva and Rajendranath, Thirlapalke were presented at 7pm. Mahapooje and Prasad distribution was at 8.30 pm following which dance programme continued. At 10 pm Tulu drama written by Dinakara Bhandary, Kanajar and directed by Prabhakar Acharya “Pira Thirgd Thoovodchi…” was presented by Nisarga Kalavidher, Belle.
On September 21, the grand procession of Shri Ganesh prior to Jalasthambhana will start at 5pm following which the idol will be immersed at 8 pm.
Palli:
The 22nd Sarvajanika Shri Ganeshotsava at Palli was celebrated with a number of religious and cultural programmes. During the forenoon of September 20, there was Ganayaga of 51 coconuts by the Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samiti, Mooduganapati Seve and Ganayaga Poornahuthi Pooje.
Cultural programmes began at 2 pm with variety entertainment programme presented by the students of Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School, Palli.
Tulu play “Bairas Bahaskare” presented by Vijaya Kalavidharu, Kinnigoli from 6pm was the highlight of the cultural programme.
The immersion of the idol of Shri Ganesha will take place on September 21 following a grand procession from 6 pm.
