Kurkalu Nagamandala Hore Kanike Procession

Katapadi, 26 May 2010: Shri Moolanagadeva’s Brahmakalasabhishekha and Chatupavitra Naga Mandalotsava at the Moola Nagasthana of the Katapadi Pai family near Kurkalu Kuledu will be held along with verities of religious and cultural programmes on Wednesday, 26 May 2010.
In view of this grand relgio-cultural programme, a colourful Hore Kanike Offering procession was held on Monday, 24 May 2010. The Hore Kanike procession started from Katapadi Shri Venkataramana Temple to the Moolanagasthana. Various music groups including the Nasik drums and different dance groups participated and performed during the procession that gave a festive look to the entire programme.
The Pai family members and other prominent persons also participated in the Hore Kanike procession. From the Pai family, Purushotthama and Satyendra Pai were present. Other prominent people who participated in the Hore Kanike procession include: The Managing Trustee of Katapadi Shri Venkataramana Temple - Baburama Kamath, Former mandala Chief – Shrikara Suvarna, Raviraju Shetty Katapadi, D. Y. Bangera, Shrikara Anchan, Appu Master, Kurkalu Shivarama Shetty, Kurkalu Kuledu Melmane Chandrashekar Shetty, Vedamurthy Narasima Upadhyaya and Prakash Suvarna Katapady.
On Wednesday 26th May 2010, there will be Rangapuja in the night and later from 11 pm onwards there will be Chathupavitra Nagamandalotsava presented by Nagapatri Vedhamurthy Sagre Gopalkrishna Samaga and Krishna Prasad Vaidya and their group – Damarumela Maddhurve.
