Moodubelle, 23 May 2012: The Second Year PUC result of St. Lawrence PU College, Moodubelle is quite encouraging  as out of 157 students from Science, Commerce and  Arts sections who had appeared for the examination 152 have been declared successful, thus  securing  97  percent result. The resuts were available on various websites from noon of Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

Out of 43 students who had appeared for the Second Year PUC Science examinations  only one student has been declared as failed. However, while analyzing his marks, it became evident that the student has secured first class marks in all subjects except in Mathematics in which the marks shown against the subject are just 06. The student is quite confident that he should get over 60 marks in Mathematics. The student suspects that there may be some error in entering his marks in the mark-sheet. He said that he would apply for re-evaluation of the Mathematics paper. If he clears the paper, the result of St. Lawrence PU College in Science section would be 100 percent. Presently, the Science stream result is  97.6 percent. Ranjit with 93.16 percent marks is the highest scorer in the Science Section.

In the Commerce Section, out of 75 students, 72 students have been declared as successful with 96 percent result. Vipin Loy Machado who has secured 90.50 percent marks has secured the first rank among the Commerce students.

In Arts Section out of 39 students 38 have passed the Second PU examination with  97.4 percent result. The lone student who could not make it to the list of the successful students has failed in only one subject. Prasanna with 68.16 percent has stood first among the Second PU Arts students.

Out of the successful 152 students, four have secured distinction marks-Ranjit (Science), Melisa Rebello (Science), Vipin Loy Machado (Commerce) and Soumya (Commerce). The number of students who have secured first class is 95, Second class 44 and pass class 9.

Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes, Correspondent of St. Lawrence Educational Institutions have expressed happiness over the excellent results of Second PU classes and has congratulated all the students for their hard work and efforts. He also appreciated the leadership provided by  Fr. Paul Sequeira, Principal of St. Lawrence PU College and all the teachers who had taken extra care to teach the students and get good results from them.

While  congratulating the students for their good performance in the examination and securing excellent results for the PU College, Fr. Paul Sequeira said that the hard work  of the students and the dedication of the teachers in training the students have paid dividend. He was a little disappointed that,  100 percent result in Science and Arts was missed by just one student each failing in both the streams.

With the results of Second PUC being declared, the newly established St. Lawrence Degree College, Moodubelle is well prepared to admit students for the First Semester in Arts and Commerce faculties. The prospectus, forms and  College Calendar  can be obtained from the Degree College Office from Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 9.00am onwards and admission process will start from the same day.

I congratulate the students and the Staff lead by Rev. Fr Paul, for the excellent achievements in the PUC results of securing 97%. This group of students are those who could not rn therace with the toppers and yet they have done well. High scores who entered the PU colleges also , some, have failed to score 100%. Hence 97% here is more than 100% one must admit. Therefore, do not feel bad. Better luck next time.

It is always a pleasure to read good news of one s Alma Mater. May the success set a minimum benchmark to excel in future. 1) As for the student with 06 marks in Maths, the PU.C must support his eforts to get a pass declared based on the internal assesments during the year, inclduing the prep model exams that most PU.C conduct. Goodluck, young man. 2) With 120 pass in Arts and Commerce streams, the new A C college has a serving capacity ratio of 83.3% only, leaving 20 students out in the cold. Assuming the toppers, especially the distinction earners continue to trust thatif the PU.C was good enough for them to score high, the College should be good enough too. What say you, toppers and distinction guys/gals and their parents?

Yet another very good news followed by the good new of the starting of the St. Lawrence Degree College! Fr. Paul and his staff have done their best. Not only the students, who have come out in flying colors and their parents parents, the whole parish along with the people of Belle, like me, spread all over the word, should be jubilant at a job well done. Thank God for all the good things happening at Belle. May He give us all many more events of joy in days ahead. Msgr. Matthew F. D’Souza
