Bishop Aloysius Releases Kalpavally and Website on Mgr. Raymond Mascarenhas

Mangalore, 13 April 2012: Most Rev Aloysius Paul D’ Souza the Bishop of Mangalore Diocese released the Telefilm Kalpavally on the life of Mgr Raymond FC Mascarenhas at Bethany Hall today. On this occasion he also launched the website www.rfcmascarenhas.com a special website on Servant of God Raymond Mascarenhas.
The telefilm produced by the Bethany Educational Society, Mangalore covered the whole life of Mgr Raymond from birth till death. The lyric was composed by Shri Sumukananda Jalavalli, the teacher of Little Flower Girls’ High School Kinnigoli. The Director of the film was Shri Suresh Attavar. Sr Reena was the coordinator.
At this function, Sr Wilberta, the Superior General welcomed the Bishop and gathering. She appreciated profusely all those who word hard for making a telefilm and the website. Sr Rose Celine, the Secretary of Bethany Educational society explained that 100 artists acted in the film and most of them were students and teachers of Little Flower School Kinnigoli.
Sr Lillis, the Asst Superior General spoke that the website was made at the special requests of people from India and Abroad who were devoted to the Servant of God Raymond Mascarenhas. The website contains nine sections namely Home Page, messages, news, details about the Cause of Mgr Raymond, favours received, articles, drawings, paintings and skits on Raymond Mascarenhas.
She appreciate the collaboration of Sr Gracy Bennis, Sr Miriam, the Vice Postulator and the staff at the Office of the Cause of Beatification in getting ready the website with the technical assistance of Mr Prakash Lobo.
In his Presidential Address, the Bishop appreciated the efforts of Bethany Sisters in producing the Telefilm and launching the website. He said, “Today’s is a media world. Writing, printing and electronics are the weapons we have in our hands to bring the message. Your Founder who is holy is to be known. I feel sad that he is not yet very much known in this diocese because the present day people have not seen him or have not experienced his love. For them he is a historical person. He said, Mgr Raymond Mascarenhas was a great person who labored much for the uplift of the poor. He is to be made known both in India and outside India especially in the diocese of Mangalore. Let us make him known and pray through his intercession to receive favours.”
He informed that the process of Beatification and Canonisation at the diocesan level is almost over. We need to pray for a miracle through the intercession of the Servant of God. People should pray through his intercession. He expressed his wish that Mgr Raymond should be raised to the honours of the altar through the prayers of all of us. He congratulated the Superior General and the Assistant Superior General for the launching the website and releasing the telefilm. At the end he requested to pray earnestly that the Founder may be raised to the honours of the Altar.
Mr Elias Fernandes, the director of Four Winds Mass Communication Services, Mr Suresh Attavar, Mr Sumukananda Jalavalli, Mr Prakash Lobo were among those who were present at the function.
Prior to this, Bishop officiated at the Eucharistic Celebration at Bethany Motherhouse Chapel, Mangalore. In his homily he said that the Risen Saviour is living with us. What we say and what we do should give a strong message to the world and that we should be transformed persons.
