“Do this in Remembrance of me”-Maundy Thursday at Mira Road

Mumbai, 05 April 2012: “Do this in remembrance of me” & “I have to come to serve and not to be served” was main theme of the Maundy Thursday at St. Joseph’s Church, Mira Road  remembering the institution of Eucharist and institution of the Holy Priesthood by Jesus Christ on the last supper, with two Masses at 6 pm and 8.30 pm at the Church ground for the large crowd.

 

 

 

Fr. Arvin- asst. parish priest in his homily emphasized on the Holy Priesthood with commonly asked questions about Priests in general today.

 

During the 6 pm Mass, Priest washed feet of 12 children and during the 8.30 pm mass to commemorate washing of the feet by Jesus during the last supper to show the humility, Priest washed the feet of 12 members on the alter and in turn those 12, emulated the priest by washing the feet of the people gathered.
