Udupi, 12 February 2012: Udupi MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat has said that the programs such as the Rave Party conducted in St. Mary’s island which caused nationwide controversy, will not be allowed to happen again. Ever since the rave party took place the administration has been criticized on this issue, hence on Friday he made his efforts to clarify it in the press conference. This was the first effort made for the development of the district tourism and some things have gone wrong in it, we have learned from it and will not allow for such things to happen again, said MLA.
Apart from the fact that the organizer of the program Girish Shetty is my classmate, there is no my involvement in the program. I was invited as a guest to inaugurate the program and had gone for that. But when I saw the dress and attitudes of the foreigners there and came to know that the arrangements are not right, on the first day itself I had told the Deputy Commissioner that such programs should not be allowed in future.
But the program has already started and all of them have arrived purchasing the tickets of thousands of rupees and it was not possible to control them. So we had to allow them to complete the program and go. But we never knew that the matter will go to this extent. We have learned now and will not allow for such program to take place again, he said.
But very soon in this same St. Mary’s island another program will be conducted and there will not be any foreign tourists, DJs in it.
Everything will be organized systematically and only our national art, music and culture will be provided in this program. We made the mistake once and have learned from it, he said.
There were no any obscene things taken place there said Raghupathi Bhat as also told by the Deputy Commissioner, Minister Dr. Acharya and Chief Minister. It has not come to my notice of any obscene activities taken place in St. Mary’s island in the program from 3rd to 5th February. During this program 8 cameras were installed and the recordings are being inspected by Deputy Commissioner.
If there is any objectionable incidents found in it, then action will be taken on the organizers without any hesitation, said Raghupathi Bhat. Also, the program organizer company 3W Concept of Bangalore will not be allowed to conduct anymore programs in Udupi, he said.

Mr.Bhatt. Nice explanation. Do not htink that the people who have elected you are fools. Accepting the mistake in front of the press does not show that you are loyal to your people and also doesnt make their anger subside. People do learn from mistakes, but people have done a mistake by electing you. They didnt elect you to make mistakes and learn from them. Remember!!!

When I was a student at MGM college, and VS Acharya contested and lost the KLA elections-1972 to Mrs. Madvaraj, it was common knowledge that cabaret dances were big money spinners, and provided great night life to well-heeled students and rich classes. Well heeled have their own culture, not what we refer as "Indian". Even your local leaders with their allegiance to three major political parties, have not defined what Indian really means to them or their parties. Because, Indian is not dead static but living, changing, evolving and free to think entity constantly wanting to experiment, try, fail and learn. In this context, Bhat is right. Mistakes were made, and will have to learn from them. But to, put a full stop to these festivals is like setting the house on fire, to kill rodents.

Mr. Bhatt thinks he can easily fool people. Why he wants to clarify after a week and how can he say nothing happened there when the whole world knows what happened. He is the one who organized it, He is the one who took money and made all arrangements now he is pretending to be a saint. Good try Mr. Bhatt.
