Father Muller School of Nursing organises Cancer Awareness programme

Mangalore, 04 February 2012: To commemorate World Cancer Day, the students of Father Muller School of Nursing (FMSON) organised an awareness programme regarding cancer on February 4, 2012 at 9 am near Medical records Department in the premises of Father Muller Medical College Hospital. Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho, Administrator of Father Muller Medical College Hospital (FMMCH) was the chief guest of the programme. Mrs. Jasmine Sarita, Principal of FMSON and Mrs. Ashalatha, Subject Coordinator Community Hralth Nursing were the guests of honour.
The programme began at 9.15 am by invoking God’s blessings by prayer song. Ms. Renita Cutinha welcomed the guests. Thereafter, the students of FMSON presented the street play on the theme “Together it is Possible” . Through this play, the students tried to spread awareness regarding cancer by highlighting the causes, signs and symptoms of Cancer and how it can be managed and prevented.
More than 100 people were present for the programme along with the staff and students of FMSON, FMCON and Hospital staff. Those young and old audience very much appreciated the street play. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. Jenevia D’Costa and the programme was compeered by MMMs. Jenita Franco.
