Abu Dhabi, 31 Jan 2012: India Social and Cultural Centre Abu Dhabi is one of the premier organizing arranged a press meet on their forthcoming U.A.E. level Tennis Tournament titled “ ISC – AL MASRAF INVITATIONAL TENNIS TOURNAMENT which will be held from 9th to 25th February 2012.
Mr. G.M. Manoj, Hon Sports Secretary welcomed the press people and invited the ISC officials and the sponsors to the dais. Mr. Ramesh Panicker spoke on the occasion and said “ We are extremely pleased to announce that India Social & Cultural Centre roped roped in Arab Bank for Investment & Foreign Trade (Al Masrarf), for the 2nd successive time the only Government owned Bank in UAE, as the Title Sponsor for ISC – AL MASRAF Invitational Tennis Tournament.” He introduced representative of Al Masraf Mr. A.S. Pillai Head of Finance Al Masraf Bank and said Mr. Pillai has personally taken the initiative to sponsor this grand tennis tournament wherein participants from all over U.A.E have already enrolled and more expected to enroll and he said he is thankfull to Mr. Pillai for their kind gesture and their total support to I.S.C. He also introduced Mr. Rajesh G. Gumani – Managing Director, Safety Electrical Trading Co. who is the support sponsor of the event and also thanked him for your interest and support for ISC activities and esp. this tennis tournament. Mr. Pillai and Mr. Rajesh also spoke on the occasion and said they too are pleased to be associated with ISC Tennis Tournament and pledged their support for future events as well. The other sponsors of the tournament are: Ocean kin Survey Services FZC, Vasantha Restaurant and a few other well wishers.
Dr. Surya Kumar, ISC Tennis Section Secretary explained in details the total numbers of events and expected participants. He also said Mr. Roberto Rubio, the former tennis coach of Nadal and Carlos who is currently coaching in U.A.E. for tennis clubs will be inaugurating the event on 9th February and he too will be participating in the Men’s Singles and Doubles above 45 category. He further explained that in total there will be 12 events/categories namely; Mens Singles & Doubles, Mens above 45 singles and doubles, Veteran Men above 55, Boys under 12, Boys under 14, Boys under 16, Girls under 12, Girls under 18, Ladies singles and Doubles. Approx.. 80 participants are already enrolled and in total 100 participants are expected to enroll as the deadline for enrollment will be on 5th of February 2012.
The ISC facilitates its members with Badminton, Squash, Tennis, Table Tennis, Snooker, Swimming Pool and with a high profile Gymnasium. With a current strength of 2,300 members (8000 includin dependants) and spanning over an area of 90,000 sq. meters, India Social and Cultural Centre, Abu Dhabi is the largest recreational Centre in the Middle East for the Indian community and enjoys an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill. This premier socio-cultural organization was established in the year 1967. Social services, Cultural activities and Sports have been incessant achievements throughout the 42 years of its existence by associating the cultural diversities and traditions of U.A.E and India, being the main objective. Mr. Ramesh V. Panicker, the Hon President of ISC announced the launching of the ISC-AL MASRAF Invitational Tennis Tournament 2011-2012. The state of the art premises will witness the “ Elite Annual Tennis Tournament “ for the 2nd time. The tennis section in ISC Abu Dhabi itself has a strength of more than 300 members, utilizing the facility on a regular basis.
The highlight of this privileged tournament is that this tournament is open for all players from all over Abu Dhabi. The main objective of this Tournament is to inspire the spirit of the game irrespective of Nationalities and to bring them together as a united Tennis fraternity at one and only India Social and Cultural Centre.
Mr. M.A. Salam the Hon. General Secretary further remarked that the overall participation is expected to reveal a show worthy of excellent skills combined with high endurance levels, and the goal is to attain the championship under the roof of ISC, Abu Dhabi. It is a great opportunity for all the Tennis lovers around Abu Dhabi, to witness this big sporting event which will be starting from 9th February, 2012 to 25th February, 2012.

Prior to closing of Press Meet on Tennis, Mr. Ramesh Panicker also requested to announce in media on the upcoming India Fest 2012 which will be held from 2nd to 4th February 2012. More than 30,000 people are expected to attend this grand festival which last year attended by more than 25,000.
The Festival have all types and communities food outlets, restaurants, fast foods and loads of cultural and entertainment programs. The main attraction of the festival would be: Visiting Cultural Troupe from India Performing everyday: Gujarati Folk Dance, Qawwali and Shehanai. This event is supported by Cultural Wing, Embassy of India.
The festival would be an event of ultimate fun frolic, food and cultural extravaganza for the entire family.
