Republic Day Celebrated in Moodubelle and Edmeru schools and PU College

St. Lawrence Composite PU College, Moodubelle
Moodubelle, 26 January 2012: The Republic Day was celebrated in St. Lawrence Composite PU College on Thursday, 26 January 2012 with Fr. Paul Sequeira, Principal of the PU College hoisting the national flag at 9.30 am.
In a short programme held in the PU College hall, John Castelino, lecturer of the PU College in his introductory address highlighted the importance of the celebration of the Republic Day. The high school students presented a patriotic song. On behalf of the students, Poornima of Second PU Arts gave a speech on the relevance of the Republic Day. Mrs. Hilda Aranha-senior teacher of the high school, in her message emphasised on the need to celebrate the Republic Day in order too promote patriotism among the students.
Fr. Paul Sequeira, Mrs. Hilda Aranha and CPL, Ivan were on the dais. The programme was conducted by the Neeti Dala. Reshma of Second Year PUC Commerce compeered the programme and Preema of 10th Standard prposed the vote of thanks. The sweets for the students were sponsored by Nelson and Malita, the past students of the institution who were recently married.
St. Lawrence English Medium High School, Moodubelle:
The staff and students of St. Lawrence English Medium High School celebrated 63rd Republic Day with great pleasure. The programme began at 9.30 am with assembly. The chief guest, Dr. Rajeshwari Rao Koradkal hoisted the national flag along with the Principal, Fr. Lancy Saldanha.
The rank holders of the Jnana Surabhi Examination, Tumkur at the Taluk, District and State level were honoured by the chief guest. Dr. Rajeshwari in her message along with the importance of the Republic Day also emphasised on the importance of maintaining good health among the students. The Principal also delivered the Republic Day message.
The Scouts and Guides, Cubs and Bulbuls entertained with group songs and dance. The programme ended with the National Anthem. Pavitra of 9th standard anchored the programme. Avinash of 10th standard welcomed the gathering and the vote of thanks was proposed by Deepashree of 10th standard.
Shri Mahabaleshwara Higher Primary School, Edmeru:
Mrs. Helen D’Souza hoisted the national flag on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the Republic Day celebration. The old students of the school-Harish Patakar of Belanjale, Sandip Kumar and Rohit were present at this occasion. Besides, Sitaram Shetty-Secretary of the Managing Committe, senior teacher-Bhaskar Shetty and other teachers were also present.
The headmaster of the school, Vivekananda Shetty welcomed the guests. The sweets for the students were sponsored by Mrs. Helen D’Souza and ice-cream was sponsored by Harish Patkar.
