Dubai: Nama Tuluveru to Present ’Aaye Subhage?’ Tulu Drama on Jan 13

Dubai, 08 Jan 2012: Nama Tuluveru UAE, a well-known charity based association engaged in promoting Tulu culture in this part of the world, is all  geared up to introduce the famous drama troupe ‘Rangataranga’ of Samajaratna Kaapu Leeladhar Shetty for the first time in the Gulf. The 20-member famous troupe of Kaapu will be flying to Dubai to present the hilarious, rib-tickling Tulu comedy drama titled ’Aaye Subhage?’ on Friday January 13, at 6 pm at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, The Indian High School, Oud Metha Road, Dubai.

 

The famous Tulu drama, directed by noted director Basuma Kodagu, written by Shyam Kumar Chitrapura, with music by Sharath Uchil has been staged more than 100 times in a year around Karnataka, Mumbai, Kholapur etc, and appreciated by mass audience. Nama Tuluveru is proud to present this famous group for the first time outside India.

The story revolves around a family wherein one of the sons, who is a disabled dwarf humiliated all the time by his own siblings, leaves home to work in a circus in order to save their home from financial stress. His sacrifice is perfectly blended with emotion and comedy, and scene after scene guarantees total entertainment package throughout the two-and-a-half hour show.

 

Leeladhar Shetty, the man leading ‘Rangataranga’ is a well-known personality in social circles and has been awarded ‘Samajaratna’ title for his dedicated service to the society. Their other Tulu comedy drama, ’Tilake Tirgaye’ which recently crossed 100th show, has become a household name back home. They have also presented some of the famous dramas viz., Pira Bannaga, Aapini Betaney, Yepala Mupathaaji Athu Ajpathamooji, Kanditha Budhdu Povade, etc.

 

 

Rangataranga had initially participated in drama contests and won awards several times.  Leeeladhar Shetty has already arrived in Dubai to promote the drama and the rest of his team will be arriving soon.
