Milagres College Organizes AIDS Awareness Programme

Udupi: Milagres College, Kallianpur, organized a guest lecture on AIDS awareness on March 11, 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote social awareness and community welfare. The event was jointly organized by the college’s NSS units, Women Cell, and POSH Cell, and featured Dr. Jayaram Shettigar, Professor of the Department of History, as the resource person. Dr. Shettigar delivered a comprehensive and insightful lecture, tracing the background history of AIDS, explaining the causes of infection, and emphasizing the importance of prevention.

 

The lecture was well-received by the students, who actively engaged with the topic and sought clarifications on various aspects of AIDS. Dr. Vincent Alva, Principal of Milagres College, presided over the function and delivered a presidential remark, urging students to donate blood to save lives. His message resonated with the students, inspiring them to take action and make a positive impact on their community.

The program was attended by several dignitaries, including Mrs. Sophia Dias, Vice-Principal, Mrs. Shylet Mathais, IQAC Coordinator, Mr. Ganesh Nayak, and Mrs. Shubhalatha, NSS officers. Their presence underscored the college’s commitment to promoting social awareness and community welfare.
