Bantwala Municipal Council holds special meeting to discuss drinking water issue

Bantwala: A special meeting was held on Thursday to discuss the issue of drinking water supply under the chairmanship of Bantwala Municipal Council Chairman B. Vasu Poojary.
There have been complaints in the public sector that drinking water is not being supplied to the people at the right time due to burst pipes. However, the department and the contractors are not responding to the matter.

Appropriate action can be taken if the problems in the first plan of 2019 are submitted by January 31 . He clarified that it was not possible for the department to entertain late complaints ,
The problems in the wards of the municipal council members should be sent to our department through the municipality and we will check everything and resolve it step by step .
Assistant Engineer Shobhalakshmi said that the companies running the National Highway Works have caused problems by cutting the drinking water pipelines . He said that the water pipes have been cut into pieces and end caps have been installed in the areas where the National Highways Works has found problems with the ground . He clarified that the work of Amrit Yojana is not yet completed and that he will complete everything as per the instructions mentioned in the tender in case of completion of the work . He informed that the problems during the road works will be resolved within two weeks.
Ready to protest:
Members expressed the problems of their wards. People are asking us about water supply. We asked who we should contact. Member Siddique Guddeyangadi said that the problem is acute in the wards of Panemangalore division. Instead of holding this meeting, give solution to the violence. Speaking on the occasion, former vice president and member Jecinta D’Souza drew attention to the damage to the pipelines. Member Gayatri Prakash also spoke about this.
Water pipe right on the road:
They said they would supply drinking water to the households 24 hours a day , but now there is not a single hour of water. Senior member A. Govind Prabhu asked whether we need such a project as there are pipes all over the road.
The contractor’s employees, who took over the contract on behalf of the department , said that they had not responded to the complaint about the video and audio recording of me talking to the employees of the contractor in the municipal office . Other members also stood with Govinda Prabhu on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, member Lukman asked why there was no response despite the complaint given by senior member Prabhu. The authorities later apologized for this.
Engineer Shobhalakshmi, who drew attention to the fact that the woman officer was calling her at night and harassing her with unreadable words, said she had lodged a complaint with the police.
Vice President Monish Ali, members Hariprasad, Zeenat Feroz, Meenakshi Gowda, Idris drew attention to several issues. Engineer Dominic D’Mello spoke on behalf of the municipality. Municipal Chief Lena Britto was in attendance.
