Talents Day Programme organized in Milagres College, Kallianpur

Udupi: The Students Welfare Forum and Fine Arts Association, in collaboration with the IQAC, organized the much-awaited Talents Day Programme on 16th November 2024 at the Tri-Centenary Hall. The event showcased the creative and artistic talents of students, providing them an avenue to exhibit their skills and cultural pride.

 

The programme commenced with an inauguration ceremony graced by distinguished dignitaries - Staff Secretary Dr.Jayaram Shettigar, Mrs.Sushma A.Shetty SWC Director, Mr.Ravinandan Fine Arts Director, Mrs.Shylet Mathias IQAC Coordinator, and Mr.Vishal Student Cultural Secretary. The esteemed judges Mr.Akash Hebbar alumni and Singer/VJ/RJ/Sound engineer, Proprietor of Swaram recording studio Udupi, Mr.Akshath alumni and Kannada Actor cum Theatre Artist and another female judge, Ms. Shruthi, Dancer and Proprietor of Dance Academy were also part of the inaugural session. Their presence added significance to the event.

 

The competition featured eight enthusiastic teams representing various classes. Each team was allotted 20 minutes to exhibit their talent, which included stage preparation and performances. The vibrant lineup of competitions included:

Mesmerizing musical renditions.

Energetic Dances and traditional choreographies.

Skit Performances highlighting social issues like gender discrimination and LGBTQ+ biases.

Celebrating cultural heritage through rhythmic beats.

One of the highlights of the event was a nostalgic moment when one of the alumni judge Mr.Akash Hebbar  presented a soulful rendition of a classic Hindi song of Kishore Kumar, which enthralled the audience.

 

The panel of judges meticulously evaluated each performance, taking into account the creativity, execution, and cultural representation. After a day filled with spirited competition, the results were announced:

First Place: Final B.Com

Second Place: Final BCA

Third Place: II B.Com

 

The Talents Day Programme was a grand success, leaving the audience inspired by the students’ creativity and dedication. The event not only celebrated talent but also promoted awareness of significant social issues through art and performance. Kudos to the Students Welfare Forum, Fine Arts Association, and IQAC for organizing such an impactful event.
