Monthi Festh celebrated by Belleans residing in Dubai

Dubai, 15 Sep 2024: Monthi Fest, a cherished and traditional celebration among Mangaloreans, marks the birth of Mother Mary and coincides with the festival of the new harvest. It is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm worldwide each year.

 

Belle Parishioners residing in UAE, celebrated the feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary and ‘Novem Jevonn’ at Mayamani Restaurant, Al Qusais, Dubai on September 15, 2024.

 

The celebration started with a beautiful welcome by MC Lloyd Lobo. The prayer session was conducted by Josline Mathias. The traditional celebration commenced with hymns, prayer. All sang the traditional Konkani hymn ’Sakkad Sangata Melyam’ and ’Moriyyek Hogolsiyan’ hymns, the children joyfully showered flowers and honored Infant Mother Mary. Thereafter ‘Novem’ was  distributed to all those who were present.

 

Lloyd Lobo welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of the Monthi Feast in his speech. He spoke about the traditional way Mangaloreans celebrate the birth of Mother Mary as a family feast, where all members come together to share joy and happiness. He also recalled that Belle Parishioners were reuniting after nine years, as the last Monthi Fest was celebrated in 2015.

 

 

 

The party hall was filled to capacity with over 100 attendees, who were entertained by a welcome dance performed by Gianne and Gloria Mathias. MC Lloyd led the event with various spot games, an icebreaker, interactive activities, and a treasure hunt. A delightful spontaneous dance by little star Sancia Martis followed. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes, a vote of thanks, and a blessing over the food.

 

The delicious lunch served by Mayamani Restaurant with several varieties of vegetables and payasam in traditional aesthetic style sitting down and eating a meal served on a banana leaf.

 

The entire program was hosted by the young and energetic MC Lloyd Lobo, along with supporters Veena Mathias, Jason Miranda, Sandeep Fernandes, Cyprian Castelino and Laveena Fernandes. Also, Steven, Kenneth, Ronald, Joba, Floyd, Avinash, Maxon, Aidan, Sannu Roshan, Kevin, Rony, Henson, Derick, Joslin, Edrin, Renita for serving the food. Their timely remarks kept the gathering lively and engaged throughout the event.

 

It is the unity, dedication and commitment of the Belle Parishioners that led to the grand success of this event.
