78th Independence Day Celebration in Mount Rosary English Medium High School

Udupi, 15 Aug 2024: 15th August 1947, India got liberated from British rule and every year this day holds tremendous ground and the celebrations all over the country, as it ushers the new beginning of an era of both development and deliverance. India’s freedom was a tryst with destiny as the struggle for freedom was a long and tiresome one, witnessing the sacrifices of many freedom fighters who laid down their lives.
Today, as the nation woke up to celebrate 78th Independence Day, the Church Campus housing the Mount Rosary English Medium School was well decorated with balloons and colourful decorations. The attractive parade was a display of well disciplined assembly as the children dressed neatly in uniforms, some in colourful attires, showcased their talent and passion for nation in union.
After the traditional welcome by the HM Sr Ancilla DMello, the national tricolour was unfurled with all respects and honour. Among others Parish Priest and the correspondent of the School Rev Dr Roque DSouza, Asst Parish Priest Rev Fr Oliver Nazareth, the Chief Guest Mr Dancy Machado,( retired Officer of Air India, NCC c Certificate holder, AICUF President of the Karnataka State) Vice President of PPC Mr Luke DSouza and other dignitaries graced the colourful event.
The Chief Guest Mr Machado in his message gave a glimpse of freedom movement, the service and sacrifices of forefathers and highlighted the abbreviations DCC – Discipline, Cleanliness ad Commitment for self, society and nation as a whole.
It was a meticulously organised programme well presented by student leaders and involvement of the teaching and nonteaching staff visibly noticed in the execution of the wonderful celebration witnessed by parents, parishioners and invited guests.
