Milagres College Kallianpur Alumni Association Celebrates Cherished Memories and Achievements

Kallianpur, 02 June 2024: The Milagres College Kallianpur Alumni Association gathered to celebrate the cherished memories and achievements that have shaped their lives since their time at the esteemed institution. Despite the looming threat of rain, the enthusiasm and spirit of the alumni, both recent graduates and those from years past, remained undiminished as they came together to reminisce and rejoice.

 

Milagres College, Kallianpur, has been a beacon of hope for marginalized and economically disadvantaged students seeking collegiate education since its establishment in 1967. The college takes immense pride in its strong and active Old Students Association, which plays a vital role in the institution’s functioning and growth. As acknowledged by the dynamic Principal, Dr. Vincent Alva, the alumni’s involvement and support have been instrumental in the college’s success.

 

The bond between the graduates and their prestigious alma mater has remained unbreakable over the years. The ’Annual Alumni Get Together’ and the ’Milagres Volleyball Cup’ tournament serve as cherished occasions for the alumni to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate their shared experiences.

 

The event began with a heartwarming welcome by Mr. Ravinandan, a proud alumnus and Public Relations Officer of the college. He took charge of individually recognizing and introducing each participant, much to everyone’s surprise and delight.

 

 

Although there was no formal program, Principal Dr. Alva seized the opportunity to honour Mrs. Francisca, a distinguished alumna, for her outstanding contributions to the historic Milagres Job Fair 2024, also known as Udyoga Mela. Mrs. Francisca’s visionary leadership and inspiration were pivotal in bringing together representatives from over 50 companies, creating numerous employment opportunities for students and job seekers in the surrounding areas. In recognition of her efforts, Mrs. Francisca, along with her husband and family, was draped in a traditional shawl. Prof. Sophia Dias, Secretary of the Alumni Association, provided a heartfelt introduction to this well-deserved family.

 

The event was graced by the presence of Very Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca, the Correspondent of the College. He expressed his appreciation for the dedicated services offered by the Milagres Alumni Association, led by its humble and diligent President, Mr. Shekhar Gujjarbettu, in collaboration with the Principal. Fr. Mendonca commended the association’s efforts, stating that it is a rare testament to the lifelong membership and unforgettable moments shared by the alumni.

 

The evening was filled with various entertaining games and spot prizes organized by the event coordinators. However, what truly captivated the audience and kept them glued to their seats were the spontaneous singing and dance performances by the talented alumni.

 

As the night progressed, a sumptuous buffet dinner was served, providing an opportunity for the alumni to further engage in heartfelt conversations and relive their cherished memories. The Get Together left an indelible mark on the participants, creating pleasant experiences and a longing for the next gathering.

 

The Milagres College Kallianpur Alumni Association stands as a shining example of the enduring bond between an institution and its graduates. The pride and connection that the alumni feel towards their alma mater run deep in their veins, transcending time and distance.
