Udupi: With gratitude DVS conducts religious tour to temples

Udupi, 22 August 2011: Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, visiting Udupi for the first time after becoming CM, visited various temples, met Sheers of Mutt, conducted Yaga, Homa and Pooja with gratitude on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday night he went to Kollur, stayed there, on Sunday morning performed Mahachandiyaga, Navagraha Homa, Family Pooja along with his wife and son. Also offered Mukambika Devi special Pooja.
Before this, on Saturday evening he visited Laxmivenkatesha Temple in Brahmavara, there he met Shri Shivananda Saraswathi Swamiji of Kaivalya Mutt who is under Chaturmasa Vrath and Shri Saiyamindra Saraswathi Swamiji of Kashi Mutt of Hemmadi who is also under Chaturmasa Vrath and received asheervachana from them.
On Sunday after performing the Poojas in Kollur, he went straight to Siddivinayaka Temple in Hattiyangadi and Anegudde Mahaganapathi Temples and performed Poojas there. Later he inaugurated the Tourist Residence constructed with government grant in Devine Park at Saligrama.
From there he arrived to Shri Krishna Mutt in Udupi. Paryaya Shiruru Mutt Sheer Shri Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji welcomed and received him. From there DVS had darshan of Shri Krisha who is specially decorated for the occasion of Krishna Janmastami, through Kanakanavagraha kindi.
Later Shiruru Shree felicitated DVS along with his wife and son in the assembly. There, for some time he witnessed the Muddu Krishna children’s competitions which are being conducted on the occasion of Krishna Janmastami. Then he visited Shri Laxmivenkatesha Temple which is near the Krishna Mutt and there also he was felicitated on behalf of the Temple.
After concluding his two day visit to Udupi, on his way back to Bangalore he visited Anegundi Mutt in Katapadi, there he received blessings from Kalahastendra Saraswati Swameeji and went towards Kaup.
