Bible Commission organizes ‘Bible Ghazavnni’ in St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 02 Dec 2023: In order to promote reading and understanding Bible, the Bible Commission of Moodubelle Unit organized “Bible Ghazavnni’ (Proclamation of Bible) on Saturday, 02 December from 9.00 am to 3.45 pm in St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle.

 

The ‘Bible Ghazavnni’ service commenced in the morning at 9.00am in association with the 20 Commissions and the Bible Commission. Fr. George D’Souza, Parih Priest and Fr. Pradeep Cardoza-Assistant Parish Priest along with the Secretary of the PPC Charles Quadros, Convener of 20 Commissions Mrs. Gracy Rebello, Coordinator of the Bible Commission Mrs. Reena D’Souza and other members came in procession from the main entrance to the altar carrying the Holy Bible raising it above their heads. On reaching the main altar, Fr. George D’Souza reverentially placed the Holy Bible on a decorated stand and after garlanding the Bible he incensed and paid respect to the Holy Bible. Mrs. Reena D’Souza, Coordinator of the Bible Commission also garlanded the Bible. Other members paid respect to the Bible.

 

 

Fr. Pradeep Cardoza, after reading one of the passages from the Book Prophet Nehamia explained the importance of reading and understanding the Holy Bible by giving various examples from the scriptures.

 

Thereafter, those who were present continued reading different passages from the Holy Bible.

 

The 23 Wards of the parish have been assigned half an hour each to visit the church and continue the service of ‘Bible Ghazavnni’. The half an hour session commenced with singing of hymn followed by reading some passages from the Holy Bible and concluding the session with a hymn.
