Remembering Dr. Norbert Lobo on his First Death Anniversary

Udupi/M’Belle, 19 Oct 2023: A year has passed since the passing away of Dr. Norbert Lobo, a native of Kattingeri - Moodubelle and serving as Associate Professor of Economics and Director of Administrative Blocks for BA and BCA Courses at the prestigious St. Aloysius College, Mangalore. He passed away at the age of 57 last year on 20 October 2022, leaving behind his wife Mrs. Anita Lobo, lecturer at the Milagres College, Hampankatta-Mangalore and two daughters Anora Niomi Lobo and Anoma Nehel Lobo and a large number of students and admirers.  Apart from academics, he was also involved in career guidance, counselling and training. He had served as the president of the Association of Mangalore University College Teachers (AMUCT), and also as the vice-president of the All India Federation of University and College Teachers Organisation (AIFUCTO). Dr Norbert Lobo had completed his PhD in 2002. He also held MPhil, MA and MHRM degrees. Dr. Lobo is an author of 13 books on economics subjects and over 50 articles published in journals of repute in India and abroad and have conducted 550 workshops on economic subject as a resource person.

Dr. Norbert Lobo had been a pride of Konkani community endowed with many talents. His memory will always last in the hearts and minds of his friends and admirers. We thank Almighty God for the gift of Dr. Norbert Lobo and the service rendered by him to the community in general.

 

As a capable leader, Dr. Norbert Lobo had shared his knowledge and experience in different fields among the students and youngsters. Though one year has passed since his untimely death his memory is fresh in our minds. The book edited by Dr. Denis Fernandes and Dr. Ronald Nazareth titled: “Norbert Lobo-Peerless Crusader Fearless Advocate” contains the contribution of late Dr. Norbert Lobo in different fields.

 

May Almighty God grant Dr. Norbert Lobo eternal rest.
