Udupi: Career Orientation Programme organized for Milagres College PU Students

Udupi/Kallianpur, 14 Oct 2023: Milagres College, Kallianpur, Udupi conducted today, Friday  13 October at Silver Jubilee Hall, a unique but purposeful program for Pre University college students in the campus.

 

In her address Mrs Savitha Hebbar, Principal, Milagres P U College Kallianpur, described this collaboration as a blessing for P U students as the age and decision making abilities are normally at stake, hence this program she clarified by saying ‘this orientation program would make the students wise decision makers’.

 

Dr Vincent Alva the Principal spoke on the importance of being a graduate and postgraduate in the years to come. Quoting the Western demands of qualities and skills required to be successful in the respective professions. Having a graduate degree in Indian style with British taste is ideal, he stressed.

 

Very Rev Fr Valerian Mendonca, Correspondent of Milagres Institutions graced the occasion and wished every student all the success.

 

 

Dr Jayaram Shettigar the IQAC coordinator of the college spoke to the students on the National Education Policy (NEP). He clarified the misconceptions and provisions of NEP. He also gave an insight to students that the Indian students are giving heavy competition to the world job market.

 

There were a day long sessions conducted by the faculty for different sections of the students focusing on the concepts of decision making and selecting a right career, followed by fun games and quiz.

 

Dr Surekha Bhat, Mrs Annamma, Mrs Shalet Mathias, Mrs Sushma Shetty and Florine D’silva from P U College faculty were present.

 

Mr Ravinandan Bhat welcomed the gathering and Mr Anil Danthy compered the program.
