Terror attack on Amarnath Yatra foiled

Kashmir, 30 July 2011:  A terror attack on the Amarnath Yatra was foiled by the CPRF on Saturday (July 30). The bus was on its way back from the Yatra. There were 3 IEDS detected but they were diffused on time. According to reports CRPF personnel defused three IEDs that were kept in the bus. 

 

The incident occurred in Kazikund when a bus with around 45 Amarnath pilgrims was coming back on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. 

The bus conductor reportedly noticed some untended bags which he found suspicious and immediately alerted the security officials. The IEDs were found inside three pressure cookers within the bags. The explosives were remote controlled. 

 

The area was immediately cordoned off by CRPF personnel and a bomb squad was called in. Traffic on the highway was stalled while the bomb was diffused.
